some facts: most of you might think that Norton anti virus is best but , one important thing to be considered is that majority of the hackers are writing programs to disable famous anti virus programs like norton and avg.

BEST FIREWALL: ZoneAlarm .

BEST ANTI SYPWARE,ADWARE: Ad aware se (LAVASOFT), Webroot Spy sweeper with anti virus

BEST SEARCH ENGINE: AVA FIND.( an ultimate utility which searches while you are typing the search content)

BEST DOWNLOAD ACCLERATOR : dap( download accelerator plus)

BEST P2P : Limewire ( be carefull if you are downloading software from any p2p.majority of them contains malware and virus. limewire can be best used for downloading english movies and songs)

BEST FILE RECOVERY SOFTWARE: Pc Inspector File Recovery.(this software can actually retrieve deleted and lost data from your hard disk)

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS:
media players: vlc (which actually plays almost all formats except real media i.e rm and rmvb files, so if you want to use only vlc and dont want to even install real player you can do that by installing real alternative codec)
